OUR STORY

Solar Generation was founded in 2003 as a residential and small commercial installer of solar panels, primarily in the Kingston, NY area. Solar Generation started with two employees and quickly grew over the years and expanded to serve the mid-Hudson Valley region.  

In 2017, Solar Generation was sold to Paul McMenemy, a renewable entrepreneur. Mr. McMenemy has expanded Solar Generation residential business and, to date, SG has installed 3 MW of residential and small commercial projects. 

In 2018, Mr. McMenemy created Solar Generation Projects, LLC (“SGP Development”) to develop community solar projects and Commercial & Industrial behind-the-meter solar projects in New York state, as well as through an affiliate (Solar Generation MW) in Illinois and Missouri.  

Both Solar Generation and SGP Development are based in Kingston, NY, while Solar Generation MW is located in St. Louis, MO.  SGP Development has a dedicated Project Development team and we design, engineer and construct the projects in-house or for clients.
